The Challenge
A Swiss-based telecom and digital services company needed to build and scale a reliable operations and R&D hub in Ukraine to support multilingual digital products and telecom services.

Misalignment between HQ expectations and local operational reality
Lack of structured processes and operational governance
High dependency on individual contributors
Language and cultural noise impacting execution
Actions Taken
- My Role: Joined the company as a translator and progressed to operational lead, later assuming a Director-level role responsible for the Ukrainian operations hub.

- Built a full-scale operational infrastructure (HR, delivery, QA, finance coordination)
- Designed and implemented clear HQ–local interaction and governance processes
- Led localisation and launch of multilingual digital platforms
- Established recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention systems
- Ensured operational control and scalability without HQ micromanagement
Key Outcomes
- Stable operation of international products across 20+ languages
- Scalable growth without operational disruption or chaos
- Ukrainian office became a long-term strategic operational pillar of the business
